Cancer Treatment vs. Cancer Cure

Anadolu Medical Center
Just the mention of cancer sends a chill down your spine, especially when a loved one or a friend you know had it. So when it comes to talking about cancer treatment as in a complete cure, no one seems to have a right answer. A widely known fact is that there is no definitive cancer treatment for most types of cancer. It's not just the unavailability of cancer treatment that makes things so grim but also the difficulty in detection of cancer.

Cancer research and treatment

A lot of research has been done in cancer treatment, and there have been improvements in cancer treatment techniques that are being used and some new best cancer treatment techniques have produced good results but a final and absolute cancer cure is not yet in place for most types of cancer. There is a lot of research going on in developing a fail-proof cancer diagnosis procedure, to ensure the correct and timely diagnosis of various types of cancer. After all, the first step towards a successful cancer treatment is the diagnosis.

Preventing and detecting cancer

Since there is no definitive cancer treatment available, the best way to tackle this monster is to take the proper measures for protection. The main recommendations include quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol, exercise and avoiding exposure to direct sunlight. In cancer detection, the most important thing is to get informed. Know what are cancer symptoms, and cancer screening tests that you can undergo to help early detection and get treatment before it’s too late.

Old and new treatment methods

The old methods for treating cancer include surgical procedures and the use of radiation and chemotherapy. This helps the body to get rid of the malignant cells and prevent their growth. Apart from these, there are other effective treatment procedures – such as Tamoxifen hormone based treatment. New procedures for treating cancer are being developed and tested as we speak in an effort to find the fail-proof cancer cure.
